Each year the Kentucky Florists’ Association (KFA) host the Floral Education Program of Kentucky (FEPK) for beginners and for individuals seeking the Kentucky Master Florist (KMF) certification. KFA sponsors several scholarship opportunities.

The  FEPK Beginner’s Course is for any florist with three (3) years or less  experience in the industry and serves as the first step to earning the  Kentucky Master Florist (KMF) certification. The course is a two-day  experience that serves as an introduction into floral design including  principles and elements of design, funeral design, and wedding  design. This is an excellent course for anyone beginning their journey in  the industry. This course will be held on June 26-27, 2026.

The  Kentucky Master Florist (KMF) certification is a six-day-long program  that teaches the ins and outs of the floral industry with a focus on  hand-on design classes in funeral, wedding, and everyday designs. The  class will also review care and handling of plants, cut flowers and  arrangements, marketing and customer relations, and business operations.  A certification test will end the program to determine if the Kentucky  Master Florist certification is earned. This program will be held June 21-26, 2026.

Both programs will be held at the Capital Plaza Hotel - 405 Wilkinson Blvd., Frankfort, KY 40601
