Membership

The Kentucky Florists’ Association (KFA) is a statewide organization that supports floral professionals through education, networking, competitions, and community. For nearly 70 years, KFA has helped florists learn, grow, and succeed in the floral industry.

Membership is open to anyone involved in or interested in the floral industry, including retail florists, event and wedding designers, wholesalers, distributors, educators, students, and FFA members.

KFA membership is $40 per year per organization. You can include up to five individuals from your business under one membership.

You can join or renew your KFA membership online through our registration form. Both credit card and check payment options are available.
Education & Certification

FEPK is KFA’s hands-on education program designed for both beginners and experienced florists. It includes a Beginner’s Course and the Kentucky Master Florist (KMF) certification program.

The KMF certification is KFA’s highest professional credential. It is earned through a multi-day program focused on advanced floral design, business practices, and a final certification exam.

No. The FEPK Beginner’s Course is designed for those with little to no experience, while the KMF program is ideal for florists with more experience looking to advance their skills.
Annual Convention

The KFA Annual Convention is a three-day event featuring education, design demonstrations, competitions, networking, and the Gala & Awards Ceremony. It is the largest floral gathering in Kentucky.

Yes, you must be a current KFA member to attend the Annual Convention. Membership is separate from convention registration.

Attendees can participate in hands-on workshops, watch design competitions, visit vendors at the trade fair, attend educational sessions, and connect with floral professionals from across the region.
Competitions & Awards

KFA hosts several competitions during the Annual Convention, including Designer of the Year, the Kentucky Cup, the Heart of America Design Contest, the Novice Contest, and the FFA Design Contest.

Most competitions are open to KFA members, with some designed specifically for beginners or students, such as the Novice Contest and FFA Design Contest.

The Designer of the Year is KFA’s premier floral design competition, where designers compete in multiple categories and a live on-stage challenge to earn the title.
